STAMFORD, CT (February 15, 2024) - All roads will lead back to Texas as Collegiate Sports Management Group (CSMG)  announced today that its Collegiate Esports Commissioner's Cup (CECC) Texas will return on May 3-5, 2024 to Esports Stadium Arlington (ESA). In addition, McDonald’s of North Texas will fuel competitors and fans again as the Presenting Sponsor and official “Quick Service Restaurant,” engaging students and fans in-person and digitally to support the best competitive talent in scholastic esports.

CECC Texas, presented by McDonald’s, is the largest multi-conference gathering of collegiate esports programs, welcoming 84 teams to compete across 4 game titles. Hosted at the largest dedicated esports facility in North America, CECC Texas will also welcome the official year-end tournaments for Vanta, who will crown Texas middle and high school champions. CECC Texas continues to be the first esports event of its kind to hold all levels of scholastic esports from middle school to college at a professional esports venue.

“This mega event continues to draw interest from numerous markets across the country. After evaluating all of our options, we have decided that with the level of support and collaboration we experienced in 2023, along with the continued resources and growth of the Dallas market for sports events, we needed to be back in Texas,” said Michael Schreck, Chief Executive Officer, for CSMG. “We’ve had our sights set on an even bigger and better event in Arlington to welcome the best scholastic competitors and fans from North America.”

McDonald’s will play a significant role in building excitement and awareness with various gaming giveaways, on-site activations, and custom digital content, all of which puts a spotlight on the McDonald’s App. McDonald’s will also host the private red carpet Jersey Ceremony to kick off the weekend, where each athlete will receive a branded jersey - and there will be several surprise guest appearances.

“McDonald’s of North Texas saw great value in CECC last year, both in terms of the level of competition and the passion from the fans,” said David Floyd, Owner/Operator with McDonald’s of North Texas.  “We are excited to continue our partnership this year and look forward to connecting with everyone in attendance and watching online. We encourage you to level up your experience by dining in, expediting an order through the McDonald’s App or enjoying McDelivery delivered straight to you”

Teams have already started punching tickets to CECC Texas. The CECC Midwest Online Regional took place on September 23-24, 2023 and the CECC East Regional presented by the US Army and Army ROTC happened October 27-29, 2023, at Helix eSports in Foxborough, Mass. In 2023, CSMG and ESPORTSU welcomed more than 3,000 fans and provided intense competition across the four gaming titles. The largest collegiate esports festival featured 64 teams from 50 schools from 14 conferences totaling 443 athletes and coaches representing 25 states and Canada.
