The EsportsU awards are returning to Texas!  The second iteration of the EsportsU awards are designed to honor and celebrate high achievers, passionate evangelists, and trailblazers within the scholastic community.

This year, celebrated live on May 3 - 5 at CECC FINALS, held at Esports Stadium Arlington in Arlington, TX, we will award and acknowledge the efforts of our incredible community.

EsportsU Collegiate Awards

The EsportsU Collegiate Awards cover 11 categories - in addition to 4 MVP categories that will be determined throughout the weekend of competition, as well as 1 category solely up to the discretion of the Award Committee. These twelve categories are open to any member of the EsportsU community.

Awards and Descriptions

  • PROGRAM OF THE YEAR Award

    This category is awarded to a school that supports esports through an operated university-managed Program, as opposed to a student-led organization.

    Nominations will only be applicable to schools that meet the above criteria.

  • CLUB OF THE YEAR Award

    This category is awarded to a school that supports esports through a student-led organization. Schools that operate varsity or non-varsity programs may be nominated, but only through consideration of their Club Activities.

    Nominations will only be applicable to schools that meet the above criteria.

  • PROGRAM IMPACT Award

    This is awarded to a school that supports esports through an operated university-managed Program, as opposed to a student-led organization.

    This award intends to honor such a school for the degree of impact made on a local, regional, and national scale.

  • CLUB IMPACT Award

    This category is awarded to a school that supports esports through a student-led organization. Schools that operate varsity or non-varsity programs may be nominated, but only through consideration of their Club activities and achievements.

    This award intends to honor such a school for the degree of impact made on a local, regional, and national scale.

  • COMMUNITY AMBASSADOR Award

    This category is awarded to an individual that best lives the community values of collegiate esports. Please consider the impact and contributions of this individual within the 23' - 24' academic school year.

    This individual may be a student, an administrator, or even a third-party employee.

    Nomination should be considered based a community focus but may consider competitive achievements or accolades as well.

  • CLUB PRESIDENT OF THE YEAR Award

    This category is awarded to a student club president who demonstrated exemplary service to their university's club. Please consider the impact and contributions of this individual within the 22' - 23' academic school year.

    This individual must be a student currently enrolled in a college or university in the United States or Canada.

  • DIRECTOR OF THE YEAR Award

    This category is awarded to a university director who demonstrated exemplary service to their university's program. Please consider the impact and contributions of this individual within the 23' - 24' academic school year.

    This individual must be a staff member or faculty, and can be full-time or part-time.

    This individual must be associated with an esports program located in the United States or Canada.

  • COACH OF THE YEAR Award

    This category is awarded to an individual that serves as a coach within collegiate esports. This individual may be a full-time or part-time employee of a college or university, but also may be a student that fills the role of a coach within their respective club / program.

    This individual must be associated with an esports club or program located in the United States or Canada.

  • COMMISSIONER OF THE YEAR Award

    This category is awarded to a league/organizational commissioner whose service or efforts demonstrated excellence. Please consider the impact and contributions of this individual within the 23' - 24' academic school year.

    This individual must be associated with an esports conference, league, or tournament series that operates in the United States, Canada, or both countries.

  • RISING STAR Award

    This category is awarded to an individual who has displayed considerable signs of leadership, competitive achievements, or other successes during the 23' - 24' academic year. This individual has made a considerable local, regional, or national impact within the scholastic esports industry either pertaining to operations, development, or competition.

    This individual ideally is relatively new to scholastic esports and has a tenure of 2 or fewer years within this industry. This individual cannot have been the recipient of any other awards within the scholastic esports industry, but may have received recognition in other non-scholastic categories (IE: the*gameHERs awards, Content creation,

    This individual must be a US or Canadian citizen and be associated with scholastic esports operations and activities within one or either of these countries.

  • ALLY OF THE YEAR Award

    This category is awarded to an individual who has displayed considerable signs of leadership, advocacy, and development as it pertains to helping make the scholastic esports space more inclusive, diverse, and welcoming.

    This individual ideally has made consistent or large contributions towards local, regional, or national discussions as they pertain to diversity, equity, and/or inclusion. Such contributions can relate to organizational or institutional culture, the creation or promotion of celebratory content pertaining to DEI, the publication of literature pertinent towards DEI and emerging best practices for inclusion, or through the organization of a network of individuals that are aligned towards propelling a mission of increased inclusivity within the scholastic esports ecosystem.

    This individual must be a US or Canadian citizen and be associated with scholastic esports operations and/or activities within one or either of these countries.
