WHAT:
Collegiate Sports Management Group (CSMG) and ESPORTSU kick off the week leading up to the Collegiate Esports Commissioner’s Cup (CECC) Texas tonight with its CECC “Smooth Skin Selection Show” presented by Barbasol ushering in the May Madness for collegiate esports. The 64 teams competing across Super Smash Brothers Ultimate, Overwatch 2®, Rocket League, and VALORANT, will be ranked and seeded into brackets based on their performance throughout the season. Hosted by @PaulyHype, @SpaceGhost and @Septilence the show will feature an analysis of each bracket, the key matches, and select player/coach interviews of each of the four tournaments.
The show will also honor the recent passing of Tom Murray, former CEO of Perio Inc., the parent company of Barbasol, who presented the inaugural CECC “Smooth Skin Selection Show” for CECC Atlanta in 2022.

The Collegiate Esports Commissioner’s Cup Texas (CECC Texas) presented by McDonald’s will welcome 64 teams from multiple conferences and associations across North America to compete in four gaming titles during a jammed packed weekend of events during the “May Madness” of collegiate esports on May 6-7, 2023 at Esports Stadium Arlington. The weekend festival-like atmosphere is more than just a competition. The best esports athletes and fans will enjoy various activities, including the Tournament Selection Show, an awards show, middle/high school tournaments, Vendor Village, Partner Activations, Cosplay Costume Contests, and Esports Celebrity Meet & Greets, and“footbrawler” Omega Strikers and fan favorite Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. . In November, the 2022 CECC won the “Best Collegiate/Amateur/ Semi-Pro Event” category at the prestigious Tempest Awards during the Esports Business Summit.
