NJCAA and Opendorse Partnership to Enhance NIL Opportunities

Expand Access for over 60,000 Student-Athletes

Opendorse becomes the exclusive NIL partner for NJCAA schools, launching a marketplace and providing tools and education for student-athletes.

CHARLOTTE, NC (August 17, 2022) – The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and Opendorse have announced a partnership that will position NJCAA student-athletes to maximize their name, image, and likeness (NIL). The three-year partnership will provide student-athletes at all 500+ NJCAA member institutions with access to the market’s leading NIL solutions. Opendorse will launch an NJCAA-specific marketplace, empowering student-athletes to easily connect with supporters for quick and compliant NIL deals.

The partnership tabs Opendorse as the exclusive NIL partner of the NJCAA, furthering its mission to help every athlete. The NJCAA and its student-athletes will use Opendorse’s all-in-one NIL marketing, education, and compliance platform, thereby streamlining deals, compliance disclosures, and secure payment.

Collegiate Sports Management Group (CSMG) partners with both NJCAA and Opendorse and brought the two organizations together to implement its NIL program.

“In providing the greatest overall experience for our student-athletes, the NJCAA is proud to partner with Opendorse to guide and educate them through NIL deals and provide a streamlined solution,” stated Dr. Christopher Parker. “Exclusive access to a customized marketplace just for the NJCAA will give student-athletes the power to expand and maximize their exposure while staying compliant. We are thankful for CSMG for their efforts in facilitating conversations as the NJCAA has navigated the NIL space.”

As part of the agreement, a curated NIL marketplace for all NJCAA student-athletes will be created and powered by Opendorse, providing brands and fans with a single platform to browse and book deals with NJCAA athletes. The marketplace enables student-athletes to automatically disclose activities, ensuring compliance with their institutional policies.

“The NJCAA is setting the standard on how to compliantly and efficiently support its student-athletes in the NIL era,” said Opendorse CEO Blake Lawrence. “Their commitment to growing in this space and enhancing opportunities for student-athletes will lead the way in year two of NIL. I’m proud that Opendorse can assist the NJCAA in its effort to support nearly 70,000 student-athletes on their path to financial freedom.”
