CUTTING EDGE SPORTS MANAGEMENT AND The MRKT REACH SPONSORSHIP AGREEMENT FOR 2020 HBCU-DREAM BOWL WEEEKEND
Milltown, NJ (January 10, 2020) – Neil Malvone, CEO of Cutting Edge Sports Management, hosts of the HBCU-Dream Bowl Weekend, and Aaron Lopez of The MRKT, a California-based multicultural marketing agency, are pleased to announce they have entered into a sponsorship agreement for this year’s all-star showcase scheduled for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Weekend in Virginia’s Blue Ridge from January 16 -20, 2020.
The MRKT is currently promoting the action-thriller, Gemini Man, starring Will Smith as retiring assassin, Henry Brogan, who is being pursued by a mysterious killer that can predict his every move. Released in October 2019, Gemini Man is now available on Amazon Prime. Aaron Lopez of The MRKT stated, “We are excited to enter this partnership with the HBCU Spirit of America Bowl as we believe in connecting with people not masses; where we prioritize passion points and lifestyle over stereotypes and assumptions. The Spirit Bowl allows us to deliver an authentic multicultural experience during MLK Weekend.” Neil Malvone, President of CESM added, “Providing our audience with a box-office smash such as Gemini Man, helps extend our connection within the HBCU and multicultural communities.”
The 4th annual HBCU Spirit of America Bowl will be played on January 19, 2020, in Salem, Virginia at Salem Stadium. The Spirit of America Bowl is the only HBCU college football all-star game in the country. In its first year, the HBCU Spirit of America Bowl saw Jylan Ware of Alabama State become a 7th round draft pick of the Oakland Raiders. Meanwhile, the 8th annual Dream Bowl will be played January 20, 2020. The Dream Bowl is the premier non-FBS college football all-star game in the nation. Multiple Dream Bowl players have been drafted and play in the NFL including Grambling WR Chester Rogers (Colts). The weekend allows the athletes to showcase their talents for the chance to play professionally with many NFL and CFL scouts in attendance. The games and events are a celebration of the excellence, commitment, and sacrifice made by the players and their families.
Thomas O’Keefe, Manager, Brand Partnerships and eSports of Collegiate Sports Management Group, a College Properties Group that drives the business performance of college athletic conferences and schools, of which Malvone is the EVP of Strategic Partnerships, handled the sponsorship negotiations.
