Campus Cup Featuring Fortnite

COLLEGIATE SPORTS MANAGEMENT GROUP’S ESPORTSU TO HOST THE CAMPUS CUP FEATURING FORTNITE 

Schools from ECAC, ECC, NJCAAE, NECC, and Peach Belt Conference to compete in an online event on June 11-12 for a $6,000 prize pool.

STAMFORD, CT (June 9, 2022) – ESPORTSU, a division of Collegiate Sports Management Group (“CSMG”), announced today that it will produce the Campus Cup featuring Fortnite along with its partner Esports Foundry. Students across the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC), East Coast Conference (ECC), National Junior Athletic Athletic Association Esports (NJCAAE), New England Collegiate Conference (NECC), and the Peach Belt Conference competed in heats and open qualifiers through May setting the stage for partner schools and others to compete in the tournament on June 11-12 on https://www.twitch.tv/esportsu.  

“We are ecstatic to bring the Campus Cup to the collegiate Fortnite scene through our ESPORTSU brand,” said Angela Bernhard Thomas, EVP of Esports at CSMG. “We’re providing a premium-quality competitive environment for students to participate in while driving significant value for our schools, conference, and sponsor partners. This is just a prelude of what’s to come from ESPORTSU.”

ESPORTSU recently produced the Collegiate Esports Commissioner’s Cup (CECC) presented by CDW and Microsoft on May 6-8 in Atlanta at the Gateway Center Arena. The largest collegiate esports festival ever, crowned Bay State College (Boston) in Super Smash Brothers Ultimate, Illinois State University in Overwatch®, Northwood University (Midland, MI) in Rocket League, and San Jose State University in Valorant among the 63 teams competing. The festival also featured food trucks, in-arena and outdoor activations, a recruitment fair, cosplay costumes, and educational panels.  

CECC was presented by CDW and Microsoft and was also supported by Atlanta Falcons, Atlanta Hawks, Barbasol (who presented the CECC Smooth Skin Selection Show on May 3), College Park Skyhawks, CTRL – A Meal Replacement, Futures First Gaming, High School Esports League, HomeTown Ticketing, Init Esports, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS), McDonald’s, North America Scholastic Esports Federation, Neustreet, Oakley, and the U.S. Air Force.
